Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cross Domain Solutions Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. As a key member of our Capabilities team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing defence solutions and digital transformation projects that drive business value for our clients.

About the Role

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of Cross Domain infrastructure solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients and deliver continuous business value.
  • Work closely with Systems Architects and local Cross Domain SMEs to develop infrastructure components of delivered systems.
  • Assist in the preparation, management, and execution of detailed technical delivery plans.
  • Contribute to the identification and management of risks and issues for the delivery of proposed solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the engineering function in technical discussions with senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to ensure regional Cross Domain strategy is appropriately reflected in operational planning and delivery.
  • Responsible for the execution of Cross Domain plans endorsed by the Chief Architect.
  • Represent day-to-day technical liaison with the UK Cross Domain team, ensuring the Australian team is briefed on product updates, roadmaps, incidents, risks, issues, architectures, and solutions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Australian Cross Domain lab and conduct demonstrations to customers using Lab or Proof of Concept (PoC) capabilities on customer sites.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with key Cross Domain technical stakeholders in Defence and NS customers.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers to enhance the effectiveness of the BAES AI market offerings.
  • Contribute to the creation, improvement, and maintenance of process documentation.

Requirements

  • PV Australian security clearance is required, or the ability to acquire one.
  • Qualifications in Computer Systems Engineering or a similar level of demonstrated infrastructure engineering competence is highly desired.
  • Robust understanding of networks, coupled with a strong background in Linux systems administration, ensuring proficiency in configuring, optimizing, troubleshooting, especially in Linux-based environments, and experience in VoIP solutions.
