The Project
Our Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project involves a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments:
- Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
- Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
- RAAF Base Wagga
The proposed capital investment of $1.7 billion will incorporate various elements, including:
- Construction of new messing and living-in accommodation
- Construction of new training facilities
- Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
- Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your Opportunity
As a Senior Safety Advisor, you'll support our project in achieving optimum safety outcomes, reporting to the Safety Manager. This role will allow you to demonstrate your previous success and knowledge gained from a successful health and safety career, while supporting staff and subcontractors to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Experience working on construction projects in a safety-related position
- High-level skill in conducting and interpreting audits and reviews
- WHS Qualifications
- High-level skill and experience in developing, analysing, and reporting on complex project performance
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Capability and experience in delivering training in high-risk activities, such as working at heights, confined space, and rescue training
- The ability to engage with subcontractors and communicate with people at all levels to ensure safety and compliance in relation to CPB Contractors' requirements
- Completion of an applicable course from the Institute of Applied Technology – Construction will be highly regarded.
This role is locally based, and for those outside of Albury/Wodonga/Wagga areas, relocation is required. An attractive relocation package, including removalist costs and a LAFHA (for eligible individuals), will be made available to the successful applicant.
