Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic team in providing high-quality care to older adults.

Job Description

This part-time position is responsible for delivering intensive community-based clinical care, including mental status exams, risk and safety management, medication support, crisis response, and management of acute deterioration. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers, and colleagues to provide evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of older adults with complex mental health and age-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment formulations in collaboration with Consultant Psychiatrist and clinical team
  • Create and implement recovery-focused care plans with consumers, families, and carers
  • Provide evidence-based interventions tailored to older adults with complex mental health and age-related needs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Formal qualifications in Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership)
  • Minimum two years post-graduate experience in mental health assessment and treatment or currently undertaking a registrar program
  • Valid driver's license and ongoing ability to drive
  • Experience in community-based mental health care for older adults, including dementia care, dual diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions
