We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at GFG Alliance. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective analysis of samples, as well as maintaining the laboratory's accreditation and compliance with NATA regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of laboratory professionals to deliver high-quality analytical services.
- Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with NATA regulations and ISO standards.
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including instrumental analytical techniques and sampling and sample preparation techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and implement training programs for laboratory staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Manage and maintain laboratory databases to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Act as the site Radiation Safety Officer and manage Legionella and bacterium control for all site Cooling Towers.
- A tertiary degree in Science, Chemistry or related field.
- Post graduate qualification/experience in Business Management or Environmental Chemistry.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Analytical Chemistry, preferably in a mining, minerals, power, manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
- Leadership capability, including the ability to achieve results, problem solve, and develop and coach employees.
- Demonstrated safety focus and compliance with safety regulations.
- Understanding of NATA regulations and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
- Knowledge of sampling and sample preparation techniques.
