Respect Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respect Officer to join our Student Life team at the University of Western Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing student safety and wellbeing, providing co-ordinated support and referrals to internal and external services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide confidential and non-judgmental support to students who have experienced sexual assault, harassment, or other forms of interpersonal violence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective referrals and support services.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to student wellbeing and safety.
- Current registration with a relevant professional organisation, such as the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- Substantial experience working with survivors of sexual assault and harassment, with a strong understanding of the complexities of gender-based violence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
