We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Civil) with Bridges experience for ongoing work in Perth WA.

Position Summary:

Evaluate the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for a designated project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on CaSE/Client standards. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the quality and environmental aspects of the project to address Project Manager's needs for effective operation and project delivery.
  • Monitor and control subcontractors' performance and ensure the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with specifications.
  • Record non-conformances and initiate corrective actions as soon as practically possible.
  • Affirm adherence to safety plans for projects and communicate them to project team members, including suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Assist with resolving safety issues as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Participate in preparing safe Work Method Statements in consultation with the work group carrying the proposed activity.
  • Engage subcontractors in compliance with the CaSE/Client safety management system and procedures.
  • Lead construction method statements approvals.
  • Set an example by meeting safety KPIs while ensuring project team members and subcontractor supervisors also meet their safety KPIs.

Planning and Operations:

  • Implement construction methods, including audits.
  • Assist the Project Manager with operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
  • Implement site-specific management plans.
  • Maintain and monitor work progress and advise the Project Engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action.
  • Evaluate that construction-related aspects of the project meet or exceed required performance targets in relation to time, cost, and quality.
  • Communicate the program to subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff to maintain commitment.
  • Prepare, maintain, and achieve detailed short-term target programs for designated work areas.
  • Review subcontractors' construction programs and assist in identifying critical areas, integrating these into the Project program.
  • Review and procure appropriate resources to fulfill program requirements (plant, labor, materials, and subcontractor requirements).
  • Make decisions and act on correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Prepare Authority submissions and approval programs to fit within the project program.
  • Consult regularly with site team leads and monitor site team effectiveness/satisfaction.

Communication:

  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to construction activities.
  • Participate in Client/contractor meetings and resolve Client/engineering and project management issues.
  • Interact with both on-site personnel and other parties to create a positive work environment.
  • Ensure regular two-way communication with the Project Engineer on all matters.
  • Conduct regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation, and enthusiasm.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, support, counseling through informal discussion, regular review, and formal performance appraisal and encourage feedback from staff.
  • Establish and maintain a harmonious Client/Customer relationship to assist project delivery and enhance Client satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with Project Managers to drive programs and results. Ensure work complies with site community relations and commitments.
  • Facilitate daily work plan meetings, ensuring required actions are implemented.
