Domestic Violence Sector Development Specialist

About the Role:

Our well-established charity seeks a dedicated individual to support and develop the Townsville Regional Sector in addressing domestic and family violence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the best support to victim survivors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to address domestic and family violence in the Townsville Region
  • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to build strong partnerships
  • Provide supervision and practice guidance to others and deliver training and presentations
  • Develop and maintain respectful relationships with clients and across the service system and community

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or human services (or 5 years' experience in a similar field)
  • Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, including trauma-informed practice, crisis intervention, and risk assessment
  • Ability to work with current legislation, including the Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012 and the Child Protection Act 1999
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to share knowledge and deliver training

What We Offer:

  • Fixed Term Contract for 1 Year
  • SCHADS Level 5.1 ($49.28hr)
  • Salary packaging options up to $15,900
  • 3 days Christmas leave granted in addition to 4 weeks annual leave
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
