We are seeking a strategic thinker capable of contributing to strategy development and continuous improvement initiatives to join our Financial Governance Team.

The team provides professional financial governance advice to the Executive and business divisions to deliver projects, programs, and activities in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining financial governance policies and procedures, including Accountable Authority Instructions, financial delegations, gifts and benefits, official hospitality;
  • Providing stakeholders with advice on the department's Financial Governance Framework, including the PGPA Act, Accountable Authority Instructions, financial delegations, financial non-compliances, and other departmental finance policies;
  • Managing the department's financial literacy program, including training development and delivery;
  • Managing the department's financial assurance program and subsequent reporting obligations, including the Management Assurance Certificate, finance law non-compliances, Integrity Dashboard, indemnities register, quarterly gifts and benefits reporting, and Lands Acquisition Act delegations register;
  • Preparing high-level briefs for Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice, Executive Board, and Audit and Risk Committee;

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their capability against the APS 6 Work level standards. We are seeking to engage high performing, motivated, and proactive candidates with a strong interest and experience in Financial Governance.
