Electrical Design Drafter Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading industrial automation and control systems integrator as an electrical design drafter. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical control schematics for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop drawings, equipment lists, and other documentation using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Prepare drawing sets, structure content, and associated drawings for complex units, assemblies, and whole projects.
  • Apply knowledge of BlueBeam mark-up software to ensure accurate and efficient communication with stakeholders.
  • Design complex PLC network control architecture taking into account safety and quality requirements.
  • Retrieve and apply information supplied by project managers, engineers, and customers to prepare and revise drawing specifications.
  • Continuously review project specifications and customer requirements to ensure conformance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
  • Oversee project tasks and budgets, regularly communicating progress with project managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian driver's license.
  • Permanent residency required; Defence clearance a must.
  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical experience in designing and developing industrial electrical control systems and automation projects.
  • Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering highly regarded.
  • Role-specific Defence clearance; bonus points for previous Defence sector experience and current baseline clearances.
