Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Randstad is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading mining and resources organization. This exciting opportunity has arisen due to a commitment to asset upgrades and improving project performance.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and engineering governance to small-scale and capital upgrade projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive project plans to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards
  • Managing project stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and external vendors
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans, and tracking progress effectively
  • Leading and motivating project teams to foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Implementing and maintaining project management methodologies and best practices
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, providing regular project updates and reporting
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project managing brownfield capital projects within the mining industry
  • Previous experience with control systems and water projects is highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement
  • Highly technical and detailed
  • Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude
