The role of a catering assistant is multifaceted and crucial in providing high-quality dining services to residents. This position plays a pivotal part in the overall well-being of individuals residing in our care facilities.

About the Position

We are seeking an individual who can work collaboratively with our clinical and care services team to deliver exceptional support services within our Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up servery and dining areas, preparing trolleys for tea breaks and supper, washing dishes and cleaning according to our Food Safety Program, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of food preparation and serving areas, and assisting with meal preparation when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain efficient meal delivery systems, ensuring timely service and presentation.
  • Prepare and serve meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to Food Safety Standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and care services team to create a positive dining experience for residents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or relevant hospitality experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately and to communicate effectively.
  • Able to work as a team member, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
