As a key team member, you will be responsible for food preparation and service to students. This includes preparing morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon snacks, as well as safe food handling for children with allergies and anaphylactic conditions.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual who can work collaboratively in a team environment. Key duties include:

  • Food preparation and service
  • Safe food handling and meal plating
  • Kitchen cleaning and dishwashing
  • Cleaning of office, staffroom, foyer and other areas as needed
  • Cutting of varied meats
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene procedures

You will also promote and market the centre to families and the community, while advocating for the Montessori Method and supporting colleagues in a positive and respectful manner.

About You

To be successful, you must possess:

  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Understanding of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard
  • Commitment to the holistic development of your class
