About the Role
Fugro is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Balcatta, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests on soil and rock samples, recording test data, and ensuring the highest level of safety and quality standards.
- Perform laboratory tests on soil and rock samples as prescribed by clients;
- Record test data and calculate laboratory test results with high accuracy;
- Utilise computer-controller data logging equipment and assist in testing data analysis;
- Responsible for calibration and checking of test instruments and maintenance of calibration records;
- Work closely with the laboratory team and engineers to ensure test results pass peer review.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent;
- Sound understanding of laboratory testing standards preferably in geotechnical or construction materials testing;
- Willingness to learn new skills with a positive attitude;
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with project stakeholders;
- Experience in classification and index testing is highly beneficial.
