Natural Catastrophe Risk Consultant

About the Role

We're seeking a recent graduate or experienced Analyst with 1-3 years' background to develop their risk consulting career in our property risk consulting practice. Reporting to the Head of Natural Catastrophe Loss Modelling, you'll use your data collection and analysis skills to assist in creating practical solutions to help manage our clients' risks.

Our services focus on natural catastrophe modelling and risk engineering, using statistical methods and engineering fundamentals to support risk analysis and risk management activities for client assets to improve resilience against natural perils.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in developing practical solutions to critically assess our clients' natural hazard risks, including researching, collating and analysing data relating to natural catastrophes and other insurable risks.
  2. Process raw data into digestible and compatible formats using GIS, PowerBI, SQL etc.
  3. Collate findings and analysis into professional reports and presentations.
  4. Work closely with the team to develop consistent, innovative and sustainable approaches to the delivery of natural hazard risk consulting projects for existing and prospective clients.
  5. Adhere to all established standard operating procedures and maintaining accurate records for each project.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Studies, Geosciences, Engineering or related field.
  • Experience collecting, manipulating and analysing large data sets.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Good problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
  • Commitment to providing high-level client service.
