We are seeking an experienced Senior Underground Planning Engineer to join our mining operations team.
About the Role:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and detailed mine plans, ensuring safe and efficient execution of development activities.
- They will work closely with the geology team to align designs with geological data and evaluate potential remnant areas for future development.
- The role requires collaboration with survey and operations teams to prioritize and execute development activities, as well as contribute to various Mine Planning functions.
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a similar role, with completed underground time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mine instructions (lateral and vertical development, stope notes) by translating conceptual designs into execution-ready plans.
- Ensure issued instructions are clear, accurate, and easily understood by Operations.
- Collaborate with the geology team to align designs with geological data.
- Evaluate potential remnant areas for future development.
- Assist in managing underground contractors for project-related work as needed.
- Work alongside survey and operations teams to prioritize and execute development activities.
- Contribute to various Mine Planning functions, including budgets, forecasts, life-of-mine plans, reserves, ventilation, and capital projects.
- Participate in safety and daily compliance meetings.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;
- Competent using Deswik CAD and IS;
- Underground completed.
Benefits:
- A competitive estimated salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location;
