Job Title: Coronial Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Coronial Counsellor to join our team at Queensland Health. As a Coronial Counsellor, you will provide critical support to clients and their families who have experienced a traumatic loss.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide detailed information about Coronial processes, autopsy findings, and death circumstances to clients statewide.
  • Develop and maintain high-level clinical knowledge and expertise in grief, loss, and bereavement, trauma, and crisis intervention.
  • Manage and prioritize a complex caseload with minimal direct supervision.
  • Provide crisis intervention support and leadership training to colleagues and other professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Social Work or Psychology with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Postgraduate qualification or current enrollment in a relevant area of study or health management is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work across a range of shifts, including a 7-day roster or continuous shift roster.
  • Valid Class C motor vehicle license and endorsement.
