Swim Squad Coach Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and develop junior and senior athletes within the current squads, while building squad numbers throughout the year. The role requires an organised, motivated, and driven individual who can maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of aquatic programs, educational trends, and industry development.

The Swim Squad Coach will be responsible for:

  • Developing junior and senior athletes within the current squads
  • Building squad numbers through out the year
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Belgravia Leisure aquatic programs, educational trends, and industry development

As part of the team, you will work closely with the Swim School Coordinator and other staff members to deliver high-quality aquatic education and programming. If you have experience in coaching and developing people, good interpersonal skills, and the capacity to think and act for yourself, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a capacity to deliver the following essential skills:

  • Effectively lead a team to develop the program and pathway to achieve the outcomes
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations of the squad program within company and legislative guidelines
  • Actively promote the squad program and participation in the affiliated Swimming Club
  • Monitor progression of swimmers through the squad program and work with the Swimming and Water Safety program to identify talented swimmers and encourage participation in the squad program
  • Encourage participation in and conduct all swimming competitions in a safe manner in a safe environment

Required qualifications include:

  • Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Competitive Strokes
  • Bronze level Qualification - Preferred
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Previous experience and success in a comparable role
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
