Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The primary function of a speech language pathologist involves providing direct patient services, including diagnosis, consultation, assessment, and treatment. As part of the healthcare team, this role contributes to departmental and community programs associated with professional services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of comprehensive patient care through direct services, including diagnosis, consultation, assessment, and treatment.
  • Participation in departmental and community-based initiatives to enhance professional services.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes aligned with organizational standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in speech language pathology or equivalent academic credentials.
  • Relevant internship or placement experience within the field.
  • Current registration with the relevant governing body for speech language pathologists.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices and procedures related to speech language pathology.
  • Ability to conduct modified barium swallow studies (asset). Proficiency in facilitating individual and group service delivery modes is also required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to achieve shared goals.
  • Good physical health and fitness level to meet the demands of the position.
  • Proficiency in the French language (asset).
