Job Title: Technology Leadership Role

A highly skilled and experienced technology leader is required to lead a team of distributed engineers.

  • Lead a team of engineers to design and implement the best integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
  • Collaborate with commercial partners to deliver a high-quality Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
  • Oversee engagements and ensure timely delivery on agreed project milestones.
  • Ensure an ongoing commitment to quality and reliability standards.
  • Engage with other teams at Canonical to align on product architecture and roadmaps.

As a senior-level engineer, you will have a solid background in software development and technical leadership. You will be able to challenge and grow your team members, influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance, server-class hardware.
  • Ability to work directly with customers, resolve technical issues, interpret business challenges, and effectively communicate solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
  • Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
  • Effective collaboration across multiple internal teams, building trust and delivering results.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent university level) in a technology field.
