This is a support role for individuals and families dealing with mental health challenges.


About the Position

The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver programs supporting carers through education, advocacy, and group assistance. They will ensure access to relevant information and ongoing support throughout the caring journey.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational resources and strategies for informed decision-making, self-advocacy, and wellness skills.
  • Develop supportive relationships and client groups based on lived experience values.
  • Conduct risk assessments to guarantee safe delivery of supports.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with Local Health Districts and represent stakeholders at meetings.

Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent experience.
  • Lived experience of mental health challenges as a carer or someone who has overcome personal recovery struggles.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience working with families and carers or people with mental illness is desirable.
