Job Title: Professional Development Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic individual to join our People & Development team as a Professional Development Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the recruitment and development of vacation clerks and graduates, while also designing and delivering tailored learning programs to meet the needs of employees.

About the Role:

The Professional Development Specialist will play a key role in ensuring an exceptional experience for participants in our vacation clerkship and graduate programs. This includes managing the end-to-end recruitment process, providing guidance and support to clerks and graduates, and building strong relationships with universities, law societies, and student groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process for vacation clerks and graduates, including shortlisting, interviewing, and coordinating rotations.
  • Oversee the smooth running of the vacation clerkship and graduate programs, ensuring a positive experience for participants.
  • Design and deliver tailored learning programs to meet the needs of employees, aligning with the firm's strategic goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to clerks and graduates throughout their programs, including coordinating Practical Legal Training (PLT) with external providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, law societies, and student groups to position the firm as an employer of choice.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. You will also require strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
