Job Title: Low Loader Driver

Company: Centurion Transport

Location: Mackay

Duties:

  • Operate low loader trailers to transport over-dimensional and over-mass machinery and equipment
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of equipment in accordance with NTC Load Restraint Guide
  • Transport equipment to and from various locations nationally, adhering to road rules and regulations
  • Complete prestart and operational checklists, as well as administrative paperwork
  • Comply with fatigue management and road rules, and adhere to Centurion Company policies and procedures
  • Carry and understand all statutory and regulatory permits
  • Attend and participate in routine safety meetings

Requirements:

  • MC Driver's Licence and experience in Heavy Haulage and Specialized Transport
  • Experience in operating a range of low loader trailers, with ability to tow general trailers up to 50 and 100 tonne where required
  • Experience in using load restraints, including chains and binders
  • Forklift licence preferred but not essential
  • Highly experienced in transporting over-dimensional equipment and machinery
  • Sound knowledge of road transport legislation, including fatigue management, permit requirements, and operating conditions
  • Detailed understanding of heavy vehicle road networks and remote locations
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods
  • Safe driving record and commitment to creating a safe work environment
