About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled LV Mechanic/Fitter to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance activities at one of our mine sites on a FIFO roster, working 8 days on and 6 days off.
The LV Mechanic/Fitter will be involved in troubleshooting complex issues, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role may also involve managing a team of maintenance personnel, scheduling and coordinating maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee routine maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and servicing of equipment and facilities;
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment;
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues;
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams;
- Provide regular updates and reports on vehicle/equipment repair status and performance;
- Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance management to develop and implement overall maintenance strategies and delivery;
- Improve overall regional maintenance by reducing Vehicle Off Road (VOR) while ensuring vehicle/equipment reliability;
- Provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and efficient operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a qualified LV/HV mechanic;
- Extensive exposure to electrical repairs and fault finding;
- Experience working on mine sites;
- Exposure to new technologies, such as new generation and electric vehicles;
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with a demonstrated ability to enforce protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness;
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence;
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and maintenance management software;
- Australian Certification in LV/HV.
