We are seeking a qualified Therapy Assistant to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for our residents at Bethanie Dalyellup Aged Care Home. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to providing them with the best possible care and support.

The successful applicant will have a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) and previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other healthcare environment. They will be able to work autonomously and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions independently, while also being confident in using their initiative and creative thinking to ensure sessions run smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting meaningful engagement with people of all abilities and backgrounds. Our Therapy Assistants have an enthusiastic and creative approach to their work and are able to support and cultivate our residents' strengths and interests.

The successful applicant will be available to work across the following shifts on a permanent part-time basis:

  • 30am – 5pm
  • 10am – 3pm
  • 30am – 5.30pm

We are also accepting applications for Therapy Assistants to join the casual pool working across our three sites in the South West.

About You

  • Ability to communicate clearly in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team members
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)

The Role

  • Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groups
  • Adapt activities to resident's level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  • Address a variety of physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents
  • Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer based
