Medical Laboratory Professional – Somatic Cancer Sample Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive laboratory professional to support vital cancer diagnostic services.
You will be the key liaison between internal and external clients, ensuring timely delivery and retrieval of samples for somatic cancer DNA testing.
The role is hands-on with sample preparation (FFPE DNA extraction), data entry into our centralised lab information system, and urgent result distribution to clinical teams.
General administrative support is also part of the day-to-day.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate sample collection for the cancer somatic mutation DNA testing service.
- Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) following established methods and procedures.
- Prepare materials and maintain equipment in line with laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.
- Undertake general administrative tasks and data entry related to the laboratory information systems and workflow.
- A minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
- Knowledge and experience in delivery of pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems.
