About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Dams team in Australia and New Zealand. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing geotechnical expertise on a range of projects, from conceptual design to detailed engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical analysis and design of water dams, retarding basins, and service basins
  • Inspect and investigate existing dams, and assess their condition
  • Scope and undertake geotechnical investigations, including interpretation of foundation conditions and characterization of engineering properties of foundation and construction materials
  • Provide construction support services, including inspection of works, evaluation of quality control and quality assurance data, and construction reporting
  • Prepare tenders and proposals, and provide mentoring to junior staff

Requirements

  • Demonstrated capability in geotechnical design, including preparation of design reports, design drawings, and specifications, ideally within the dams industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and the local industry
  • A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
