About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Developmental Psychologist to join our team at The Royal Women's Hospital. As a key member of our Neonatal Services team, you will play a critical role in providing developmental assessments and support to infants and preschool children in our newborn outpatient follow-up clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive cognitive assessments to evaluate cognitive development and potential developmental delays in infants and preschool children.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to an integrated, multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective developmental assessment and support.
  • Coordinate referrals for infants and children requiring further assessment and develop treatment plans in consultation with families and staff.
  • Ensure evidence-based practice and a philosophy of individualized support underpins all elements of clinical care.
Requirements
  • Relevant undergraduate/qualifying degree in Psychology.
  • Registration as a Psychologist with the PBA, with a minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent).
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area, particularly neonatal care and development.
  • Demonstrated performance excellence in patient- and family-centred care approach, developmental care models in a neonatal setting.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills for providing psychological support for a caseload of infants and neonates (often premature) and preschool-age children with complex needs.
