**Role Summary:** We are seeking a seasoned Android Engineer to lead the development of our first native Android applications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in architecting and building robust, scalable, and optimized mobile experiences.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop Heidi's first Android app from concept to launch
  • Define the Android mobile infrastructure and best practices for future functionality and team growth
  • Collaborate with iOS engineers to ensure cross-platform consistency and knowledge sharing
  • Integrate on-device machine learning models to enable real-time AI features
  • Work closely with design and product teams to deliver pixel-perfect, intuitive UIs
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy and security standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

**Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience, fluent in Kotlin and Android ecosystem SDKs
  • Deep knowledge of native Android APIs, Compose and other Jetpack libraries, and modern architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
  • Experience running ML models on-device (TensorFlow Lite or similar) is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with RESTful API integrations, offline storage, and performance tuning
  • Experience submitting and maintaining apps on Google Play
  • Some exposure to iOS (Swift UI) and willingness to collaborate closely with our iOS team
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and a detail-oriented mindset
