Data Migration Project Lead

The role of Data Migration Project Lead is a highly sought-after position in the industry. This senior-level role involves leading and delivering end-to-end data migration initiatives across critical business systems.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in large, complex data migration projects and possess a solid technical background within the data space. They must also have an ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the full lifecycle of data migration projects from planning through execution to post-implementation support.
  • Deliver assigned projects with responsibility for defining, documenting, and satisfactory delivery of agreed objectives and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, SMEs, and Technical Teams to define migration strategies, data mapping, and validation frameworks.
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of the project.
  • Define and manage data quality assurance and reconciliation activities post-migration.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of the project, including dependencies across projects, political, business impact, and technical complexity.
Requirements:
  • 8 + years' experience in large, complex data migration projects.
  • Solid technical background within data space, with an ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues.
  • Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills.
  • Vendor management and engagement skills.
  • Proven confidence in verbal communication, with the successful ability to deal with a wide range of diverse stakeholders.
