Family Support Specialist


Job Description:

We prioritize the safety, well-being, and welfare of vulnerable children and families. Our role is to ensure their protection from harm.

As a Family Support Specialist, you will respond to concerns about child safety and work collaboratively with other agencies to address complex problems.

  • Build strong relationships with families, respecting their boundaries and needs.
  • Develop tailored support plans to help families overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans to mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage cases involving high-risk clients and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in court processes, including preparing documents and attending hearings.

This role requires empathy, resilience, and effective communication skills. You will need to make informed decisions that prioritize the best interests of vulnerable children and families.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field, along with relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with families and professionals.
  • A valid driver's license (P1 or above) and a paid Working with Children clearance number.
