Protective Services Coordinator

Berry Street provides specialist programs to over 35,000 young people, children and families across Victoria each year. As a Specialist Family Violence Hub Practitioner, you will play a critical role in family violence risk assessment, safety planning, and engagement of victim/survivors and children into any necessary supports.
The service delivers tailored advice for victims, families and children, and perpetrators, prioritizing dignity and respect for all individuals regardless of their cultural background, ability, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, spirituality or religion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop safety plans for victim/survivors and children.
- Engage with victim/survivors and children through phone, face-to-face appointments, or outreach services to provide specialist support and advice.
- Coordinate access to support services and ensure seamless referral pathways for victim/survivors and children.
- Provide regular reflective supervision and support professional development opportunities to ensure high-quality practice.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
- Recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through established principles.
- High-level understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and relevant legislation.
