We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Painter. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain trade qualifications and become a skilled tradesperson in the construction industry.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced painters to learn the skills and techniques required to become a qualified Painter. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in surface preparation, applying painting techniques, and mixing and matching paint colours accurately.

As an Apprentice Painter, you will be required to:

  • Surface preparation - sanding, filling cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Applying proper painting techniques, including brushwork, roller application, and spray painting.
  • Mixing and matching paint colours accurately according to project requirements.
  • Applying primers, undercoats, and paint coats to surfaces with precision and attention to detail.
  • Applying wallpaper including measuring, cutting, and hanging wallpaper.
  • Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and using PPE.
  • Assisting with decorative finishes, such as faux painting, stencilling, or special effects.
  • Interacting with clients in a professional and courteous manner, understanding their requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Genuine interest and enthusiasm for the Painting and Decorating trade.
  • Must hold a White Card or be able to obtain one ASAP.
  • Current Drivers Licence and have own reliable transport.
  • Work Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Must be physically fit with the ability to work well in a team and take direction from others.
  • Have an eye for detail and a steady hand.
  • Be reliable, resilient, motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

As an Apprentice with East Coast Apprenticeships, you will receive:

Modern Award rates apply. Please note, to be eligible you must be an Australian citizen, Permanent resident, or hold a valid visa that allows you to work and undertake training in Australia.
