Adventure Sports Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adventure Sports Instructor to join our team at Berkshire East Ski Resort. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional adventure sports experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orient guests on the resort's trails and bike park rules.
  • Teach various skills to guests of different ages and abilities, focusing on improving their mountain biking proficiency.
  • Implement risk management protocols and educate guests on critical safety aspects.
  • Represent the resort in a professional and friendly manner, promoting repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Educate guests on the proper use of protective gear and equipment.
  • Identify and address any issues with guest equipment, recommending improvements where possible.
  • Lead groups to promote progression and enjoyment, maintaining a controlled environment.
  • Report any trail damage or maintenance needs to the relevant manager.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the resort's trails and facilities.
  • Support staff during large events and activities.
  • Provide basic first aid assistance when necessary.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of rental bikes and equipment.
  • Help with bike rentals and issue replacements as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Desirable: Completion of BICP or PMBIA instructor courses, Levels 1-3.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles and ability to adapt to individual needs.
  • Previous experience riding technical mountain bike terrain.
  • Leadership and instructional experience.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and self-improvement.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Creation of a supportive, engaging, and educational atmosphere.
  • Promotion of memorable experiences for guests.
  • Basic bike maintenance skills.
