FSC Civils is seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage (HV) Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an HV Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop high voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Technical Calculations: Perform detailed calculations to establish and validate the sizing and selection of high voltage equipment.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Lead high voltage installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high voltage systems, conduct fault diagnosis and troubleshoot high voltage system failures, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Project Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth integration of high voltage systems in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review technical documentation, such as single-line diagrams, specifications, and test reports.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all high voltage activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices, including implementation of isolation procedures and risk assessments.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise contractors and technicians during high voltage works and provide guidance on technical issues.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements in high voltage technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) working with high voltage systems in substations.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) working with high voltage systems in construction, industrial, or utility environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of high voltage electrical design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance practices.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Experience with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools used for high voltage systems.
  • Safety Regulations: Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards (e.g., AS/NZS, IEC, or equivalent).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve high voltage system issues.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of leading teams and managing contractors.
  • Certifications: HV Switching certification (desirable).
  • Additional Skills: Experience with relay coordination, protection systems, and SCADA systems (advantageous).
Preferred Skills
  • Project Management: Experience with project management or supervisory roles in HV-related projects.
  • CAD Software: Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
  • Renewable Energy: Knowledge of renewable energy systems and HV integration.
