Airport Communications Coordinator

We are seeking an exceptional Airport Communications Coordinator to join our team at Melbourne Airport. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

This role is critical to the success of our daily operations and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and appropriate communication with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will also play a key part in maintaining airport safety and efficiency through effective policy implementation and procedure management.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing 24-hour communications support for external and internal operations within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC)
  • Assisting Managers within the IOC on various matters, including emergencies and operational events
  • Coordinating airport communications, including gathering, sharing and educating stakeholders on operational information
  • Maintaining Airport Coordination Systems, including Maximo (Fault Reporting), Access Control, CCTV System and SMS
  • Ensuring timely and accurate provision of information across the airport
  • Managing Terminal Operations Contacts lists
  • Supporting the Airport Co-ordination Centre Supervisor in maintaining ACC systems
  • Deputising and providing relief coverage for the Airport Co-ordination Centre Supervisor
  • Supporting the Airport Co-ordination Centre Supervisor and Airport Manager in emergencies, operational and customer events.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Knowledge of airport-specific systems
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in managing multiple workstreams
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-resilience environment
  • Knowledge of aviation operating environments
