Join our team of innovative engineers who are shaping the future of naval defence. As a Hardware Engineer at Ultra Maritime, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge electronic systems for our defence customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support for fault finding of legacy systems to ensure contract KPIs are met
  • Conduct engineering investigations of legacy systems
  • Participate in System Design and Hardware requirements reviews and establish the Hardware specific requirements for projects
  • Develop candidate solutions which meet customer requirements and present such solutions during design reviews
  • Manage the configuration control of project documents/drawings in accordance with company procedures with the support of the relevant Project Engineer/Technical Authority
  • Utilise appropriate design capture and analysis tools effectively to enable design tasks to be completed in the most timely manner
  • Assist in identifying safety hazards and contribute to product safety engineering
  • Work with Project Engineering and Production staff to optimise designs for manufacturability, repeatability, reliability and maintainability
  • Create, maintain and change designs, drawings and parts lists for electrical assemblies in accordance with company procedures
  • Support the integrity of the design by checking design artefacts, including documents and drawings created by self and others
  • Identify non-conformances with engineering drawings and associated parts lists and create NC-CA reports in accordance with company procedures
  • Participate in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Support equipment integration and validation to ensure that the design meets its requirements
Requirements:
  • Experience in developing electrical drawings such as Wiring Diagrams, Schematics Wiring Lists, and Cable Assemblies
  • Understanding of electrical and/or electronics design
  • An understanding of Configuration Management principles
  • Experience in configuring and managing drawing changes and be proficient in the use of configuration management tools
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Visio and Word, with an understanding of file structures/databases
  • Experience in a Defence Acquisition Project or In Service Support Contract
  • Working knowledge and understanding of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies; design tools and techniques, electronic circuits design, schematic capture, design analysis, design documentation, commissioning, and integration
