We are seeking an experienced Airport Services leader to join our team at Qantas Group. As Head of Airport Services, you will be responsible for leading and directing the safe and efficient operation of airports throughout our network, ensuring compliance with all Airport Services policies and procedures.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of success through targets, team member engagement, and regular performance reviews and development.
- Drive a safety culture, ensuring the safety of our people and customers is our number one priority.
- Identify opportunities to achieve Qantas Group's strategic, commercial, and cost objectives.
- Evolving and executing the Airport Services Strategy.
- Ensure Airport Services achieves its financial targets, including through the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and control of the function's budget.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Qantas Group and Jetstar stakeholders.
- Uphold superior Airport Standards, including Airport Services training programs, certification, and licensing standards.
- Ensure the successful establishment and start-up of new Domestic and International airports.
- Effective negotiations for airport charges and access agreements as required.
- Management of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators for contracted airport handling agents and third-party service providers.
Your Ideal Candidate
- An accomplished people leader with experience in leading a large customer-focused team, including experienced managers.
- Confident to lead in a highly regulated, unionized, aviation environment.
- Brings a strong commercial and strategic mindset, able to balance cost, customer, compliance, and team member engagement.
- Confident in financial management, including experience in managing a sizeable budget.
- A genuine passion for people leadership, including significant exposure to leading a team of diverse individuals and responsibilities.
- Comfort in presenting to a range of audiences, including senior executive forums.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, coupled with postgraduate qualifications, would hold you in high regard.
