Job Title: Principal Technician - Supplier & Surveillance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Technician - Supplier & Surveillance to join our Engineering and Technology branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of an audit and surveillance program for materials testing within the construction materials testing industry across the state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate unit and project staff, including contractors, applying contemporary human resources and workplace health and safety principles.
  • Provide critical, timely, and specialist technical advice to departmental staff, other government agencies, industry, and consultants.
  • Liaise and consult with clients and stakeholders to build strategic relationships, ensuring that project expectations are met, performance is reviewed, and any issues identified are addressed through audit and surveillance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Construction Materials testing standards, best industry practices, and NATA requirements, including AS ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a "C" Class driver's license.
  • Possession of an Advanced Diploma of Laboratory Technology or acceptable equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution or registered training organisation.
