Paediatrician - Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatrician to join our team at Social Tides, a leading provider of paediatric care services in Perth, Western Australia. The successful candidate will have specialised training in developmental and behavioural paediatrics and be passionate about delivering exceptional care to children.
About the Role
- Assess and treat children with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other conditions that affect their development.
- Work with children who have experienced trauma, including those affected by domestic violence and abandonment.
- Manage attention and behaviour-related issues, including ADHD, OCD, and oppositional-defiant behaviour.
- Treat habit disorders, such as tics and Tourette syndrome.
- Address regulatory challenges, including sleep disturbances and feeding issues.
- Handle developmental disabilities, including cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder.
- Evaluate speech, language, motor skills, and cognitive delays.
- Manage behavioural and developmental complexities in paediatric chronic illnesses, such as epilepsy and asthma.
- Analyse test results and examination findings to devise optimal treatment strategies.
- Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities.
- Publish and administer appropriate medications and rehabilitation programs.
- Facilitate hospital admissions and deliver in-patient care as necessary.
- Collaborate, supervise, and coordinate with fellow Medical Practitioners and Health Professionals.
- Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor treatment progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Support and mentor parents in nurturing their children's development and mental health, ensuring optimal growth and well-being as they develop.
- Participate in therapy-intensive camps, workshops, and therapist training when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic records of all assessments and patient interactions in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Keep abreast of advancements in paediatrics and best practices by attending seminars and conferences.
- Be willing to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and make recommendations for patient care.
About You
- You hold a Medical Bachelor's degree with 5 years of specialist study and training.
- You have 'General' or 'Specialist' registration.
- You possess specialised training in developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of hospital-based training (482 Visa).
- You are registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- You have excellent knowledge of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation principles and techniques.
- You are knowledgeable about medication suitable for children and their side effects.
- You possess outstanding diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and written communication.
- You are charismatic and well-presented.
- You have a compassionate approach to client interactions.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office.
