The purpose of the Student Support Officer is to provide mentoring and support services to our First Nations students in years 7-12 through the successful delivery of our Beyond the Broncos Program. This program focuses on engagement, retention, and academic progress through:

  • Providing culturally safe mentoring and strengths-based support to participants\
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including school staff, parents, carers, indigenous community, NGOs, and government agencies\
  • Updating and maintaining student profiles and records\
  • Providing students with career pathway support including mentoring, work experience, industry engagement, info sessions, self-awareness, etc.\
  • Implementing, monitoring, and reviewing attendance, behaviour, effort, retention, and attainment strategies\
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required\
