Family Support Practitioner Role

At Kanda, we deliver personalized support solutions that cater to the complexities of life. Our services span a range of areas, including disability and NDIS support, children, youth and family services, aged home care, veterans' care, and community nursing.

About the Role
  • Work with families in their homes and communities, providing tailored support to meet their unique needs.
  • Flexible shifts are available, with both casual and part-time roles on offer.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities will help you grow and succeed in your career.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive family support, working closely with children, young people, and their families to develop effective strategies for improving safety and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, including parenting strategies and practical life skills coaching, to help families build resilience and stability.
  • Support families to access community resources, education, and employment pathways, empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Conduct home visits and engage in early intervention strategies to promote positive change and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Child Safety and other stakeholders to deliver wrap-around support, ensuring a holistic approach to service delivery.
  • Document and record case notes in line with legislative and organisational requirements, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Circle of Security, Parents under Pressure, Safe and Together, and Shark Cage is desired, but not essential.

Requirements
  • A valid Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the willingness and eligibility to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Availability to work across a full shift pattern, including mornings, evenings, and sleepovers.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, enabling efficient travel to client locations.
  • Attainment of a relevant Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Certificate IV in fields such as Community Services, Youth/Social Work, etc.
  • Experience working with young people and children, as well as related fields like Family Support, Child Safety, and family development.
