Job Title:

Freight Transport Specialist

Courier drivers play a vital role in safely transporting road freight, providing exceptional customer service while optimising routes for cost-effectiveness.

  • Execute delivery and collection across metropolitan and regional areas.
  • Plan outbound freight schedules, inspect packages, and validate package labels to ensure efficient operations.
  • Notify management of any faulty packaging or damaged items, recording details accordingly.
  • Use appropriate equipment to load and unload vehicles, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Prevent movement of freight during transit by implementing safeguarding measures.
  • Meet punctual completion of runs, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Obtain recipient signatures upon successful delivery.
  • Deliver superior customer service at all interactions, ensuring customer loyalty.
  • Handle and secure packages properly, addressing delivery challenges as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a similar role.
  • Valid driver's license for a two-axle rigid vehicle.
  • Good driving record with minimal incidents.
  • Proficiency in operating various loading equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with ability to communicate effectively.
  • Physical stamina required for daily tasks.

Key Physical Demands:

  • Individual lifting up to 20kg, typical weights between 2kg and 10kg.
  • Constant standing and walking, with potential squatting to lift items.
  • Pallet jack and moving trolleys require push/pull physical demands.
  • May be required to work in cold environments (up to -4 degrees Celsius) for short periods.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused on safety throughout shifts.
