This is a dynamic and challenging role as a Space Weather Forecaster with our organisation.
Job Description- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our forecasting team, delivering timely and accurate space weather forecasts, warnings, and alerts across all key sectors.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice to partners to assist in making informed assessments of risk and enabling them to take appropriate action to mitigate against space weather events.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in physical sciences or a relevant area of study, with demonstrated ability to enhance team capability and respond flexibly to changing demands.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Professional Expertise:
- Energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
- A strong understanding of space weather and its impacts on the community, national security, and at-risk industry sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to interpret observational and modelling data to produce forecasts, warnings, and alerts.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and application of specialist knowledge to real-world scenarios.
