About the Role

VMCH is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team within the At-home Aged Care program. This full-time ongoing position is ideal for a confident and positive graduate who wants to work with an organisation that shares their values to make a difference in the community.

As a VMCH Physiotherapist, you will provide high-quality allied health support to our clients within the Grampians Region of Victoria. You will be based in Ballarat and travel around the region as required. Your approach will be goal-oriented and focused on wellness, reablement, and capacity building, working with clients and their support networks to maximise their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Physio services, including assessment, goal-oriented treatment and care plans, home assessment, equipment prescription, and report writing.
  • Complete thorough functional assessments to identify appropriate accommodation settings or complex home modifications required for clients to live safely and supportively.
  • Demonstrate a range of intervention and therapy strategies to address needs related to activities of daily living, functional performance, fine motor skills, motor planning, sensory processing, perceptual motor handling, and positive behaviour support.
  • Provide therapy supports in clients' chosen environments, including their homes and/or specialist accommodation.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration.
  • Sound theoretical and demonstrated knowledge of complex conditions impacting people with a disability, the aged, and their carers.
  • Knowledge and skill in assessing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic plans and services for the elderly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, including office-based or remote off-site locations.
  • A current Victorian driver's license.
  • Evidence of 2022/2023 Flu Vaccination and COVID-19 Vaccination.
