Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

This role requires a skilled professional to perform various tasks related to trade competence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patching and painting of facilities.
  • Anticipating and responding to guest needs in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking tasks in accordance with work requests, preventative maintenance programs, and verbal instructions from supervisors/ managers.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Maintaining knowledge and skills required for trade job requirements.
  • Performing work related directly to individual's trade qualifications.
  • Responding to inter-departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs, and general assistance.
  • Communicating with appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Maintaining self-appearance according to hotel grooming standards.
  • Developing harmonious relationships with other members of the service team.
  • Complying with operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Familiarizing oneself with occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
  • Ensuring protection and maintenance of operating equipment.
  • Completing assigned opening and closing duties.
  • Providing assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
  • Attending scheduled meetings.
  • Carrying out additional duties as directed by supervisor/manager.

Requirements:

  • A trade qualification in a relevant field.
  • Suitable experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and policies.
  • A valid license to drive a vehicle if required.
