The Role

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team at Port Pirie as a Port Operations Specialist. This is a casual shift work position, requiring flexibility to work an irregular schedule in a 24/7 roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery, including ship loaders, forklifts, skid steer, and excavators, to ensure efficient cargo handling and storage.
  • Perform shipboard and wharf duties, including ship loading, lashing, and unlashing, as well as general duties.
  • Conduct basic pre-start checks of equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Assist with basic security duties and clerical tasks, including tally clerking.
  • Operate in a safe manner, reporting any safety breaches or incidents immediately.

Requirements

  • Current driver's license (essential)
  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (essential)
  • Forklift license (essential)
  • Flexibility to work shifts over a 7-day, 24-hour period
  • Availability to attend work at short notice
  • Reliability to perform routine tasks without supervision
