Shift Supervisor Role

This Shift Supervisor plays a vital role in our support ecosystem, overseeing Crisis Supporters and enhancing service efficiency.

  • Provide timely feedback and assistance to Crisis Supporters across the network.
  • Conduct initial debriefs following high-risk interactions.
  • Manage emergency interventions and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize instant messaging technology to offer support and direction to on-duty Crisis Supporters.
  • Balance shift coverage with staff breaks, training, and support.
  • Prioritize daily staffing management and work force management duties.
  • Oversee ISS inbox and voicemail during shifts.

To be successful in this position, applicants should have:

  • A minimum of 100 hours as a Lifeline Digital Services Crisis Supporter.
  • A strong understanding of reflective practice and debrief techniques.
  • Completed or willing to complete relevant training.
  • An education in a related field (e.g., youth work, social work, counselling, psychology).
  • The ability to acquire necessary certifications and clearances.
  • Proficiency in software programs, online meeting platforms, and accuracy in typing and data entry.

In addition, this role requires:

  • Ability to work a rotating shift roster.
  • Excellent time management and workload efficiency skills.
  • Independence, initiative, and proactive teamwork abilities.
  • Discretion and professional acumen with a growth mindset.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment.
