Job Overview

The care unit provides dedicated support for patients in need of ongoing care. This 30-bed interim care unit operates around the clock, split into two wings: a secure area and a non-secure section.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with meal services by serving food, collecting used trays, taking orders, and feeding designated patients.
  • Encourage independence among residents, promoting their ability to move freely.
  • Restock supplies and report any shortages to ensure a seamless service.
  • Maintain cleanliness by cleaning up spills, body fluids, equipment, disposing of soiled linens and waste to provide a safe working environment.
  • Develop effective communication skills when interacting with healthcare teams and customers.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, understanding the organization's mission and values.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in residential care or a healthcare setting is highly valued.
  • A Certificate III Aged Care (or equivalent) or enrollment in a pre-registration university program in nursing, approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, is necessary.
