Transform the Future of Energy

Australian energy leader AGL Energy seeks a skilled Capital Planning Specialist to shape the development and optimization of its 5-year and Whole of Life capital plans. This critical role will ensure projects are well-planned, executed, and aligned with strategic objectives, driving success for our customers and business.

About the Role:
  • This fixed-term, 12-month contract is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a significant impact in the energy sector.
  • You will work closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Maintenance, Major Outages, Corporate teams, Finance, and external partners to deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems, policies, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process safety principles during investment planning to guarantee safety and compliance.
  • Prepare future capital budgets and coordinate the development of 5-year and Whole of Life Capital Budget plans.
  • Manage project close-out/handover activities, ensuring effective Management of Change.
  • Oversee project controls, data collection, and reporting to track progress and outcomes.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • An engineering discipline or trade qualification with relevant industry experience OR industry experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale industrial asset management or investment selection processes.
  • Prior experience using capital planning software applications or similar tools is highly desirable.
