About the Role

  • The organization is seeking an experienced Regulatory Reporting Manager to lead and manage their regulatory reporting obligations across federal and state jurisdictions.

This critical role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of energy reporting (retail, gas, and electricity) and manages interactions with key regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor emerging regulatory trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on regulatory impacts.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulators.
  • Represent the business in regulatory reporting and compliance discussions.
  • Align reporting frameworks with business goals, including decarbonisation and market expansion.

Operational & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory reporting obligations and KPIs.
  • Provide guidance and training across teams on evolving requirements.
  • Lead the development and evolution of efficient internal data and reporting systems.

Compliance & Governance

  • Document obligations, risks, and controls using GRC systems.
  • Ensure alignment with internal compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Support internal and external audits related to regulatory reports.

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure industry best-practice.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and drive necessary internal adaptations.

Data, Reporting & Insights

  • Coordinate collection, validation, and analysis of data for all regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare and review periodic and ad-hoc regulatory reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Respond to information requests from regulators and assist with audits.
  • Partner across business functions to ensure reporting integrity and business insight.

About You

  • Degree in law, business, accounting, finance, engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a regulatory, compliance or reporting-focused role.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory reporting requirements in the energy sector.
  • Experience with governance, risk and compliance tools.
